I am sending a report from Access to an .rtf document. I lose formatting when I do this. Does anyone know if, and how I can have a preformatted document in this format? (or alternatively in .htm format)

I originally had it in .snp format but most people do not have this installed on their computers (and IT does not want to install it for everyone) so I need to send it in either .rtf, or .htm format.

This is a problem. .SNP was designed by Microsoft to provide for the distribution of ACCESS reports so that they do not lose their formatting. Tell you IT staff they need to get with the rest of the world and make .snp part of the standard build for all their PC's so that reports can be easily passed around.

I had the same problem with my office for a long time. Once we finally got IT to do their job and that was to utilize all the tools available then a nagging problem was solved.

Sorry, I think the only other solution is to save/export it to a Acrobat (.pdf) file. This type of file will also save the formatting for you but it does require some additional software installation on your PC.(here is a link: Most PC's can open the .pdf file but few can create a new one. Check with IT on this one. Good luck. Bob Scriver
