How do you do this and what steps need to be taken. Like from
the ground up. Do I need to buy a floppy version of win95.
I've worked with pc alot but I can say I've never been this
situation. Like with a pc you just built yourself. How do you
begin to install software when the cd drive isn't found?

Are you booting with a floppy that has the cdrom drivers. Get these drivers and put this in your autoexec.bat A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10, then put this in the config.sys DEVICE=A:\MTMCDAI.SYS /D:MTMIDE01

Well, yes... If you have a Mitsumi CD-ROM drive. If you don't, you might want to use the generic Oak Technologies driver for the system level driver in the config.sys file.

Try checking in your main-board manual to see if you can set your PC at bios level to boot from the CD. I'm told some versions of W95 are bootable. Anyone have more details ?

One other very easy thing you can do is find the Win98 boot disk. It has the option to boot to command prompt with CD ROM support. And then you can load Win95. I've done this in a similar situation.
REGARDS!

The Windows 98 boot disk is probably the best answer, but just in case, you have old dos disks, just re-install dos.
