Formating usb flash drives

I recently got hold of a couple of 128MB usb flash drives with software(Cheap). The drives have some kind of security and compreshion on them and the software utility program wont instal ( it actually instals but wont run)on either XP or 98se.Any one have any ideas how to format thse drives so they are of some use.Normal format does not work. they are formated now at about 4 mb is useable. Now I know why Cheap.Kelly

Open disk management, then check to see if the device is pciked up in XP. Then check the FlashD and see if the read/write access is off(little clip on side on FlashD).

Then do your updates for XP and check again if you can format through disk management.
