I have 2 fields, one with the Family Name the other with the Given Name which I have combined in a report. The text format of the 2 fields is not always the same or constant. when running a report how do you force the first letter in each name to be - Uppercase first letter the rest Lower case. Thank you for your help.

There is a propercase function in CR9.

In earlier versions use
Uppercase({table.firstname} [1]) +
lowercase(mid({table.firstname},2))

Thank you for your prompt reply. I also have a mixed text field made up of up 1- 5 words. Is there a formula to present the first letter in each word as Uppercase and the balance of the word lower case? Thank you. FYI, I am using Vr 8.5

There is a UFL that you can download at the following adress:

This will let you capitalize the first character of a each word in a string.
