Hi,

I am using MS Project2003 Professional.

I inserted a some custom date field (date1, date2)
I found that if I didn't entry data to the cell, it will appear "NA", can I change it to appear nothing? or just a symbol "-" for easier reading?

On the other hand, is there any "condition formating" for the cell to change the color or font size under some condition like Excel have?

Thanks.

1. Can you format the Date1 field to appear as nothing? No.

2. Is there conditional formatting as in Excel? No.

3. You didn't ask this but I will: is there a way to set up a formula for Date1 so that an entry in Date1 can be "massaged" so that "NA" appears as something else? No, this would be a circular reference.

4. Is there a workaround? Yes ... though you may find it to be a bit cumbersome. Continue to use Date1 to hold the date you are tracking, hide the display of Date1, display a text field (say Text1) and use this formula to control the display of the information:
Code:
IIf([Date1]>60000,"",[Date1])
Project stores dates as numbers and project works with dates up to Dec 31, 2149. That date is stored as 54787. "NA" is a special case and is stored as a very large number (2^32, I believe). You cannot test for "NA" but you can work around this by testing for a number greater than 54787 -- I used 60000 because that's an easy number to remember.
