Hello There-

I was wondering if any of knew how to add formatting commands to a formula (or how to link fields of varying lengths).

Right know I have the following formula for citations:

{sources.Title}+","+{sources.Source}+"," + totext({sources.Date})

It prints out fine but all in the same format. I'd like to have the title In italics and the source bolded.

Any idea of how to do that?

Thanks!

I've tried to do this in CR7 (I don't know what your using)but I couldn't find a function that'll do it.

What you have to do is create a new formula. Call it @Source. In the formula, insert your source field.

Now what you want to do is insert onto your report your Title field. Stretch it so that it will accommodate the @Source formula and italicize it. Take your @Source formula and insert that into your Title field. Double click on your @Source formula and format it to bold. Now all you have to do is, outside the Title field and the formula, add your Date field. You will most likely have to play with the spacing, etc.

Hope this helps.

Use a text object. Format each field/formula/text string in the text object as you would like.

Thanks Guys-

Malcom Your idea worked like a champ.

Storm I'll undoubtably have to try something that needs something that unique eventually. Thanks for the advice

Any idea on how to make an inserted field in a text object superscripted?

Some limited superscript characters are part of standard true type fonts, such as ®©¹²³. These are just written in the upper part of the text block reserved for the character.
Other than that, I'm stumped on that.
