I have a report which has a page header that use several address fields,

Address1
Address2
Address3
Address4
Address5
Post Code

This is fine if all the fields are used however sometimes some of the lines are blank. How would I close some of the blank boxes

so the report looks like

123 New Road
London
Lon 1234

instead of:

123 New Road

London

Lon 123

one more thing i can't use group headers as other unrelated text will appear along the page header that is unrelated

Found a solution myself

If anyone is interested chr(13) is a character return

so i have created a formula that checks for nulls and uses chr(13)

1. Make a textbox in the header
2. Open format editor
3. Format thhe textbox by checking the can grow property and supress embedded field blank lines
4. Doubleclick in the textbox
5. drag the datafields over

this should solv your problem
