format to receive mail from unix box

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out a way to get notes to be able to receive html or rtf format email from a unix box. the unix box will have an auto mailer bot, and i need to know what format to set the mail daemon on the unix box so that notes will be able to read 'pretty' mail with some embedded grpx etc. hack the planet!
