Hi there. I have done a keyword search and found nothing in these forums.

Basically my problem is, I want to remove RedHat 9 from my system, and put XP back on. I cant seem to figure out why. For example, in windows you can set your system up so if there is something in the CD drive, it will load it. But this is not the case, and I do not know how to format the hard disk :|

Any advice would be great :D
btw - i am a nooby with linux. I want to learn it, but have to put XP on this system for dumb reasons.

thx :)

I can't seem to figure out why.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to remove Linux and install XP, either.

As you can set up hard drive partitioning and formatting during the XP install process, this sounds to me like an XP question, not a Linux question.

well, i want to remove redhat. so it is a redhat question.
also, if i cannot get XP onto the system, i cannot set up hard drive partioning there, can I?
I need to know how to make redhat 9 boot from whatever is in the CD drive, because when i put the XP disc in, it doesnt open the windows installation process.

ahaaaa, nevermind :) i found out. it was the stupid computer's setup... CD was last to boot. thx anyhow. I guess it was in the wrong forums anyways :p

because it was redhat that was preventing me from doing it. but i know now :) weee.

also - if i knew what the problem was i wouldnt need to post. so i came here under the assumption that windows was not on my system (omg! it wasnt!!), and that it was redhat causing the problem. but it was neither. so thats why it wasnt true when you said it. also your statement is not true still. you told me about XP and stuff i already know. when it wasnt xp at all. nothing to do with it infact. anyways :) thx for the interest!!

Let's see. I made three assertions:[ol][li]You can set up drive partitioning and formatting from the XP install (true)[/li][li]Your question was an XP question (not true)[/li][li]Your question was not a Linux question (true)[/li][/ol]

It seems to me that assertion 3 was enough to invalidate this question for this forum.
