Format Prompts

hi,

I am inputing prompts to filter a date column, the prompt comes, it is displaying as yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss format, how to change display format in the prompt manager?

and also how to set dependecy in prompts?

say for example the values in the prompt2 should change based on the selection of the prompt1.

you really need to supply more information, what type of prompt are you using ? Type in, picklist etc. what format is your date column in ?

cascading prompts are not supported directly in impromptu windows version, if this report however is to be used in IWR you may want to take a look at Power Prompts.

Where did you get the info that cascading prompts are not supported in the windows client version of Impromptu? I've been using them there for years!

Apologies for misinformation, I use a number of different report writers and sometimes get the different functionalities crossed.

Read the impromptu help files for Cascading prompts, their is a very good description of how to implement them.

how to make these prompt as an optional?

requirement is I have designed 4 user prompts and user may input/select only 2. In this case the filter condition using the excluded 2 prompts must be removed from the report query.

(am i expecting something in macro or procedure report???!!! if so how to get it?)
