Format of attachments in MSG files?

Hi,

I've received MSG export file from Banyan Mail program. I can easly decode every field except attachments. What kind of format do they use?

I found that text attachments are stored by using hexdecimal characters representation of each byte)) But some binary attachments are having more complicated structure. How is it encoded?
