Hi - I am setting a percentage value in Access and can't find a way to get the percentage to display as say 10% rather than 1000% as when I modify the number properties to a percentage, it states % Formats Multiply the Cell Value by 100. Is there any way around this??

Thanks, Beth beth@integratedresourcemgmt.com

Beth, what you have done is performed some of the math on the field prior to ACCESS converting your field to percentage format. A percentage of a whole number literally should be stored a number less than 1(i.e. .67) You have probably stored the value as 67 and want it to be displayed in your report as 67%. Well ACCESS is assuming that the decimal number it is going to receive is in fact a decimal of the whole. So, it is multiplying it by 100 and placing a % behind it to display it as a percent value.
Problem is you have already multiplied it by 100 making it 67 so then ACCESS does the same making it 6700%.

You two choices. Change the way you are storing the data in the table to a decimal equivalent of the whole or divide your field by 100 before using the PerCentage format.

Does this make sense to you. I hope I have not confused you. If you are using a query as the recordsource for the report you can divide the table field by 100 and call it the same name as the table field(i.e. Sales_PerCentage: tblSales.Sales_PerCentage/100 ). This way you don't have to do anything in your report. It should then display properly.

Good luck.
