Is it possible to extend the text into an A4 format? I am scanning a newspaper column
into Word and the word documents sets the scanned text into the left side of the page
and i want to extend the text into a full A4 format. Is it possible to do it ?

You can select and change the style. But also check whether each line has a 'return' at the end, which means it is the same paragraph but a new line. You might find it useful to turn on [Formatting Marks] for [View] on[Options] under the [Tools] menu.

if it is returns, you might be stuck with replacing them one at a time, and also putting a space in place of the return. Or you could use Word's own column options.

See if this gives you what you want:

Ctrl+A (Select All)
Format > Columns > One > OK
File > Page Setup
Apply to: Whole Document
Page Size: A4 (210 x 297mm)
OK
If it prompts, “One or more margins are set outside the printable area of the page. Choose the Fix button to increase the appropriate margins,” click Fix
