I know that there must be something simple I have missed. I have a control which has as its control source a calculated field in the report's underlying query. When I try to format the control, the Format drop-down is blank (and Currency simply does nothing). If I change the control source to a non-calculated record, the Format drop-down functions normally. I am using Access 2000.

What am I doing wrong, here?

Access has presets for fields depending on the datatype, it may not be able to tell what the datatype is, hence no presets. Two avenues to go here:

A) Check that there isn't an opportunity to format the data in the query instead of the report.

if not:
B) Use the format() function to set the format like this:

=Format([MyField],"Currency")
