I have no idea why this is happening so any help would be much appreciated. I've been creating a client interface with command buttons linked to macros. Initially when I created this main form, everything was fine. I went back to add a button that enabled another report to be run but when I went to save the changes by clicking on the little disk icon at the top, it paused for 5-10 seconds. Then I hit the X or close button and it asked if I wanted to save changes despite having already saved the form. I click on "yes" to save the changes and nothing happens. It keeps asking me if I want to save the changes. The only way to get out is to say "NO" that I don't want to save the changes. I've been wasting lots of time trying to figure this one out so I would appreciate any help! THANK YOU!
Mike

How many controls (buttons, labels, textboxes, etc.) do you have on this interface form? lastout (the game's not over till it's over)

about 3 buttons, 1 GIF and 3 textboxes

about 3 buttons, 1 GIF and 3 textboxes. Also, if Access does allow me to save the changes. When I shut the program down and go into it later, it won't let me open the form in design or by any other method. Aaaargggggh!

My first thought was that you might have too many controls on one form. There is a limit with Access and if you reach the limit, you won't be able to save the changes. But obviously that isn't the case here.

Your situation sounds odd indeed. I once had a problem something like that with reports - not being able to view them or create any new ones. It turned out to be a problem with the computer I was using and its operating system. But it isn't likely that that's your problem.

Have you tried compacting and repairing your database? Click Tools, Database Utilities, and Compact and Repair Database. If you've been making a lot of changes, deleting objects and such, it can cause screwy things to happen and usually all it takes to fix those problems is running the compact/repair utility. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest posting your question again and seeing if any of the experts out there have better solution.

Good luck! lastout (the game's not over till it's over)
