Hi all,

I have created a form using fields from three tables.
when i try to edit the data or to add new data to the fields in the form to update the database, nothing happens.

When i create a form with one table it all works fine.

I'am not very experienced with Access.

Can tell me what is wrong?

Greetings,

Marco

It can be tough to figure out how to make Access do what you want sometimes! Without having more info on your design, it's tough to give a good answer as to why you can't update your form. It depends if your form is based on your tables and the relationships you have set up, or if based on a query it depends on how many tables you have joined in your query and how the joins are set up.

You can start by going into Help and enter in "Create, modify, or enter data into tables". Read through all that. Then type in "updateable queries" and read about that. The Microsoft Support site has a searchable knowledgebase where you can type in table design or form design and it will point you to lots of articles about getting started.

There are also a number of web sites where you can find more info. Suggest to first check out all of the Access forums here on tek-tips and read all the info in the FAQ tabs from each forum-there is some WONDERFUl info here from really experienced and helpful folks. They also include some links to some great Access websites. This website

has a nice overall explanataion. Do a Google search for MS Access and find all the other great sites out there.

Hopes this helps. Post back with additional details of how you're doing your design and your form development and someone will get you pointed in the right direction. Good luck!
