I have a form which collects data. I need to write/append that data to a text file without using ASP. my Website is hosted by Geocities who does not support ASP.

Any ideas?

You're out of luck unless they allow to use a full cgi-bin (many free servers limit what their cgi-bin can actually do). You need to be able to run a server-side script (perl, php, whatever...) that has permissions to write a flat file on the server.

There are free hosting companies that give you full cgi-bins. I think if you look back through ther posts in here you'll find urls to some of them.

I had to jump to a free server (hypermart.net) to get the cgi capabilites they support Perl and PHP.

Someone wrote me a Perl script but I'm having trouble implementing it.

If anyone knows an easy PHP method, I'll try that too.

Thanks for all your help. eSearing.com
