Form that loads SQL database? Can this be done?

Hi all,

I've been messing around with infopath and creating forms. Quite frankly I find this pretty weak - the user has to have Infopath on his/her machine and then fill out the form and save as something else.

I would like to create a form that submits data to an SQL database and then put it into sharepoint. Any ideas??
