form submit type "GET" won't work

i currently have apache 2 installed on my win32 machine. i added php support the other day, and started devloping scripts. anyway, whenever i try to send information through a url

blah.php?variable=whatever

the variable always ends up being blank. i've tried this on shell accounts (on other servers) and it works fine. it just doesn't seem to work on my home version of appache. how do i enable forms?

Hi mate,

Try the following and see if that works:

<?
echo $_GET['name'].&quot;: it is working!&quot;
?>

Then access the page with file.php?name=whatever
