Hello,

I have created a form in MS Access which was fine yesterday. However today I am trying to go into it in design view or normal view and it won't do anything. I've tried exporting and importing the object into another database but keep getting the message "The Mircosoft Jet Database engine could not find the object "frmPreBill". Make sure that the object exists and that you spell it's name and path correctly". However on importing the icon does appear in the new database but when you click you get the same error message. The code can be viewed via the Visual Basic editor but I am getting the message "You cancelled the operation" and on compiling I get the message "Module Not Found".
Has anyone get any ideas on how I can retrieve this form?

Cheers,

Hi,
Try compacting and repairing the database. Its available under Tools->Database Utilities->Compact and Repair Database Hope it helps. Let me know what happens.

PGK,

Repair and compact was the first thing I tried. No good though.

Steve,

It looks like you have run into the same problem as what I had, only you come from a different angle and a different approach. I couldn't open my code module and all the stuff you mentioned in your question. My problems started when I imported a form.

Because it is such an irritating thing I made a FAQ (see faq705-2528).

Check it out because I have a good feeling that it may help you.

Kind regards,

Remco

Remco,

Thanks for that. However It doesn't seem to help. The form was created in Access 2000 and hasn't been imported or exported. That was one of the things that I tried to do to fix the problem. The form was created and modified and code added in the same .mdb file. It could be viewed and edited yesterday but today we can only go into the code window.

Any ideas?

Hmm, I thought it would be a long shot.

Let me ask you a question: Does the problem persist when you work from a different pc? In other words, is it pc specific?

Remco

Remco,

No it isn't PC specific. It's the same on 2 different desktop PCs and a Laptop!!!
