Form opening differences PC and Laptop

An application opens up a form totally over the navigation/ribbon area screen. However the same application running on my laptop opens the form but fitting in the the navigation column on left and the top ribbon. Can someone tell me why.

The form on open has the maximised statement, and the form is a popup. I wanted modal but the user wants task bar left open.

Sorry, the first line describes how the app opens on my PC.

I suspect that this is the result of the two machines having different screen resolutions.

Thanks. Both screens similar, in respect to widescreen. I am having to carry on with the application on my PC, and will get back to laptop, as some other things on it don't seem to be working. I know I had a similar problem with things not fully working a while back and it was due to the trusted location.

Both screens can be "similar, in respect to widescreen," whatever that means, but that does not mean that they are both set to the same screen resolution!
