form open in backround hidden

i have a system that will kick people off the database using forms, the problem is the form that is open in the backround, it works fine as long as i minimize the form, but when i have it hidden in the backround when i open the second form to set the time for the closing of the database it doesn't work. the code i have now opens it and minimizes it (only because open it hidden didn't work)

can anyone help on how to have the form hidden and still perform its function in the backround.
