form maximize very "un-smooth"

When I use DoCmd.Maximize on any of the form events, open. load, activate the form will inially appear in its un-maxamized state then convert to its maximized state which is very unpleasing to the eye. Any way around this?

I tried opening the form as hidden, then maximize, then unhide but this does not work.

Try this:

DoCmd.Echo False
DoCmd.Maximize
DoCmd.Echo True

I've noticed that if you run the command OnOpen rather than OnLoad, it's more visually appealing...you get less of that screen shifting. Also, a faster machine might help? (A faster machine would help a lot of things, though, right?)
