Not with HTML alone. Maybe with Javascript.

Here this may put you in the right direction:

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

hmm, most links on that thread are dead and the only potential solution is using activeX
Code:
function A()
{
var oas = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
var d = document.a.b.value;
var e = oas.getFile(d);
var f = e.size;
alert(f + " bytes");
}

</script>
</head>
<body>
<form name="a">
<input type="file" name="b">
<input type="button" name="c" value="SIZE" onClick="A();">
</form>
</body>
</html>

back to the JS forum I think.
