Hi,

I'm familiar with creating the basic forms that allow users to e-mail orders from a website to a specific address, but is there any way to put the resulting information in a more readable format, like in Excel or Word? I want to use the method for timesheets so that people don't have to write everything out every time they fill one in.

Thanks.

You could manipulate the data into CSV format, which could be easily imported into Excel.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks,

Not quite sure how I'd do that. Are there any samples around that I could play with?

CSV is "Comma Separated Variable"... There's nothing fancy to it. Say you have name, address, and phone data:

Name: Fred Bloggs
Address: 123 The Street
Phone: 020 7123 4567

This might appear in CSV format as:

"Fred Bloggs", "123 The Street", "020 7123 4567"

You could easily do this server-side, and create the CSV on the fly, or you could do it client-side and just display the CSV data in a textarea, etc, for the user top copy, paste, and save as a CSV.

Hope this helps,
Dan
