Hi,

I have created a database. It has a main form and once details have been entered on the form for one record, i want it to automatically force to the next record without having to manually scroll to the next record, because if the users forgets to scroll to the next record, they will overite the data they have entered.

Is this possible.

Thanks in advance,

Peen

You could equally be asking how to stop the form moving to the next record because it moves when people didn't expect it and found themselves updating the next record instead of the one they're working on. Access has no mind-reading features (at least not Access 2000 which I use) so you have to let the user move records 'manually'. Only the user knows when he/she has finished with the current record.

Technically you could put an event handler in the field of the last field in the tab order (for example) so that when the user leaves that 'last' field, the next record automatically appears, but as I've intimated I think you would actually make the ergonomics much worse rather than better.

Form properties, Other tab, Cycle = All Records.

Make sure your tab indexes are set correctly. When data has been entered in the last control, pressing the tab key will move you to the next record.
