If I want to put a calculation in the form events that will recalculate no matter what happens in the from which is the best event to put a calc in?

Thanks

Huh? So it will recalculate even if nothing happens in the form? Recalulate what then? You tell us when it should recalculate - on a change of a texbox, combobox, opening of the form, etc. I'll take a guess and assume something is happening with the form so probably on the AfterUpdate event of the form. Or if you want to check the calculation, on the BeforeUpdate event of the form.
