Form error "Record is Locked"

I've got a split database with several users. The backend is on a network drive and the frontend is on the individual PC's. Basically the frontend is just a form and the people working in it add records.

Everything has been running well until today. Today when they tried adding new records they got a "record has been locked" message. Does anyone know what causes this?

Has anyone got an old ldb file? It is possible that the databse did not close correctly. Have you tried a compact and repair?

Usually caused by someone turning off their pc by the mains or having it crash without first closing the database.

Just delete the ldb file and re-open the database
