Form elements disappearing

Has anyone had a problem with a form loading but the text-boxes and buttons (well just about every element in the form) not showing at all when the form loads?

The form runs as part of an MDE with the back-end MDB on a server. Form has loaded just fine in the past, only recently has decided to appear without its contents (just the background colour displays).

Any similar experiences / ideas on how to fix much appreciated.

How long since the database has been compacted/repaired?

About a week prior to this happening the back-end was compacted/repaired. Could it require compacting on a weekly basis?

Usual reason for fields/controls disppearing is that there is no data behind the form. Could the back end have been moved to a different folder/drive?
