Hi everyone,

I would like to create a temporary table from one of my standard tables, and then open a form showing me the temp table... Am battling to write a stored procedure or something that will do this!

Is there a way I can base a form on a temporary table??

Thanks!
Leanne

You can create a #temp table in the stored procedure and then do a select on the temp table before returning from the SP. This would not be updateable. Is this what you are looking for?

Hi cmmrfrds - I would need the table to be updateable. That's the reason I need to create the temp table. It has a field in it that the user is going to check per record they want, and I don't want their checkmarks to interfere with someone else who may be doing the same thign but looking for DIFFERENT records. Hence the reason I want it to create a table for only them to use, whcih I will then drop once I've done what I need to do with what they've selected...

Does this make sense??

What version of Access?
Is the check box temporary, but needs to be part of the recordset for the duration of binding to the Form?

I haven't tested, but first try a query that has a calculated field.

Select
'1' as checkbox,
yourfield1,
yourfield2,
etc
From yourtable

On your Form say what table is updateable, ie. yourtable.
