For those with the same problem seeking a solution here si what worked for me:
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Sites and Services.
Right click on the ORG and select Show Services node on the View menu.
Double-click Services.
Delete Microsoft Exchange.
After which I was able to run ForestPrep.
