I need to use Vietnamese characters in an Illustrator document and although I can get the special characters to appear in Micosoft Word, they do not appear in Illustrator when I use the keyboard commands.

If you have CS or CS2, you can open the Glyphs palette, which should show you the entire char set for the font you are using.

The keycommands will work if you turn on Num Lock.

Otherwise, you can use the Charactermap in Windows (Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map), and copy and paste the characters from there.
