Hey all, I had a local support guy install my Exchange 2007 for me because I have no experience with Exchange. I followed his suggestions and my Exchange Server has been running stable. I noticed some AV update errors in my App Log but since I have five AV programs running (Forefront Security) I didn't think it was too big of a problem. I think I've been noticing more of the errors (at least I hope I didn't have all of these errors right after the install) and the guy that did the install has moved to Texas. SO, I've been Googling and checking out the MSExchange.org site and I'm not finding anything like what I'm getting. Here's an example of one of the messages:

////////////////////////////////////////////////
March 2, 2010
Event Type: Error
Event Source: GetEngineFiles
Event Category: Engine Error
Event ID: 6014
Date: 3/2/2010
Time: 12:50:00 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SRV-EXCHANGE2K7
Description:
Microsoft Forefront Server Security encountered an error while performing a scan engine update.
Scan Engine: AhnLab
Update Path: Proxy Settings: Disabled
Error Code: 0x80004005
Description: An error occurred while checking if an update was available.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at ////////////////////////////////////////////////

When I Google the 0x80004005 error code I don't see anything that pertains to updates for the AV software. If I click on the link on the bottom of the errors I get the "We're sorry but no info" window.

Does anyone know how to fix Exchange 2007 so these errors don't keep popping up in my App Log?

Thanks,

Joe B

That engine is no longer available in Forefront. It was discontinued at the end of last year. See

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

The first blog gave me everything I needed for my Exchange server so here's a late star for you 58sniper. Sorry it took so long

Thanks,
