Fairly newbish with MS project, my role at work is to create and update an ongoing ms project schedule tracking our new wells to be drilled and any approvals and surveys associated with the drills. My boss has asked me if it is possible to have 1 bar for say well#1 showing how long the project duration is(and the bar showing this is split into each task, say surface land clearance linked to surveys linked to actual drill days linked to complete and tie in the well)and another bar on top of that one showing the actual time these tasks are taking(be it sooner or later than projected.). Oh and also, prolly a trivial question but how can i change the text color of the task names?
Hopefully this makes sense, all your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Long time readers know what I'm about to say: Project is for controlling projects; Paint is for pretty pictures.

To do the roll-up double click on the individual task, choose the General tab, and put a tick mark in the field "Roll up Gantt bar to summary". (I'll tell you right now that doing this doesn't always make a lot of sense since tasks will invariably overlap and this makes a mess of the summary task bar.)

To show actual progress vs. predicted progress, create a baseline and then click on View | Tracking Gantt.

To change the text click on a task, click on Format | Font and choose the font size, style and colour you want.
