I want to write a function, with a parameter 'd' for example, however, I want to check this entry must be Date object or string object "only" - other ones are all wrong.

I really don't get what you mean. But for interests sake, if you have created an object using the new operator, and a constructor - you can find out the name of the condstructor used from the object.constructor property.

But really - you are athe one using the function, and sending the arguments - so you make sure you have the right objects don't you? As I said, I don't quite understand
