I have searched all over the place and can't find anything to this question. I have an Access database that from time to time requires changes, and in order to do them i need to users close the database, however, there are instances where a user has left the database open and left for the day, there computer is locked and rather than have our IT department and access the terrminal and close the app, i wanted to know if there is a way to force them off. This database does have a workgroup assigned to it if that helps. Thanks

Hey PHV:

I used the code in that link and it was great but i am having a little problem, two lines are causing errors when running within the timer interval
Code:
 [COLOR=red]If (PrevControlName = "") Or (PrevFormName = "")_
Or (ActiveFormName <> PrevFormName)_
Or (ActiveControlName <> PrevControlName) Then[/color]

Is this not acceptable in access?

Is that a cut and paste? If so, you need a space before the line continuation character.

When I load the DB I get the following error message:
The Expression On Timer you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Syntax error.

*The expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of user-defined function, or [Event Procedure].
*There may have been an error evaluating the function, event, or macro.

When I check the vb editor it highlights the information red indicating an error. If you want the full code let me know and i will re-post. Thanks
