We are using a number of seamless apllications without problem on our citrix servers, however I have an application that will not work seamless and has to be launched from a published desktop...

Is there a way to force an application to be windowed whilst all the others can remain seamless. I know this will cause a citrix licence to be used for the app but that's not a problem.

Thank you in advance

Kevin

Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly, but have you tried setting the window size in the client to a fixed size, as opposed to seamless?

The connection sharing feature should mean that the licenses are shared.

Hope this helps

The ICA Client on the PCs are set to load the applications as seamless apps.

But when you load a published desktop as a seamless app it replaces (covers is probably more accurate) the Start Menu with the Citrix Start Menu. If you press the Windows Logo key the Workstation's Start menu is displayed, but that will be to complicated for our average user.

The only way to make the application work is if you publish a desktop (at least until the software company can make it work) therefore if possible I want to make this the only application windowed.

What currently happens is that even though the window size is set to a fixed size because Citrix Program Neighborhood is set to default to seamless this app is still loaded seamless.

Any ideas ?

So you're using all of the applications via application sets?

In this scenario I can think of 2 options, since a seamless connection is made by the client, not set at the server;

1) Create a new Application set with a fixed window size as the default

2) Create a custom ICA connection, and set it to create an icon on the users desktops. The individual properties of a custom ICA connection override the default. It gives the users an extra icon - but that shouldn't be too difficult :cool:

I hope this helps

That would work, now how do I do it via Nfuse ?

I can only think that I will have to create an ICA file that has a fixed size and add a hyper-link to launch the ica file sound right to you ?

Doswelk - did you get this working through Nfuse in the end? I have the same problem in that we are running Web Interface and all of the applications run fin as seamless windows except one which requires to be run in a citrix window. How did you get around this problem?
