I have what a thought was a simple problem, I have a display in a public area showing an information screen, the pc is hidden in a wiring closet to which local staff have no access (security reasons). The page is self refreshing every minute but sometimes the web server doesn’t respond briefly (reason as yet unclear), and once the site is not found it displays the error page and then stays like that, as you’d expect.

I’ve tried sorting the problem with a self refreshing frame page stored locally. The frame uses the meta refresh tag and pointed to a single frame pointing to the web site set to refresh every 10 min. unfortunately this suffers the same problem I was hoping that with the frames page running locally it will overcome the problem.

Does anyone have any bright ideas??

Javascript, client side VB or a html tag I don’t know. Anything ???

Any ideas gratefully received

had thought of that but unfortunately it's not a 404 error, it’s a no response from server. Is it possible to do the same sort of thing on the client??

Thanks anyway
