Forced account Code List 2

I have never used Forced Account Code List (#409) before. As I understand a user can dial a pre determined code to make outside long distant calls from a restricted extension. I have activated Forced Account Code Entry (#307) for extension 10. I have created an account code 123123 in the Forced Account Code List (#409, using list entry 01 = 123123). I select a vacant line and dial 123123, I still get the restriction tone. What am I doing wrong?

Put a Forced Account Code button on the phone, press it and dial the code BEFORE selecting the line.

If you go to chapter 8, Programming & Using Telephone Features, in the Partner IPU document you will find all the stuff on Forced Account Codes, etc. If you don't happen to have that document, you can get it for free @ support.avaya.com.

I assigned a Forced Account Code button. (F12). I pressed that button, dialed 123123 (from my forced account code list, accessed a vacant line, dialed a number and it still denied my call. What am I doing wrong?

It can be confusing, you press F12 + account code + F12 to use the feature. See page 240 (8-4) in the document, it describes several ways to program and use it.

syquest thank you. It is confusing. I programmed a Account Code Entry (F12) on a button with lights. To use the steps are: Pickup handset, draw outside dial tone, push the pre programmed button (or dial F12), dial your Forced Account Entry, (I used 123123), push the pre programmed button a second time, you can now dial local or long distance.
