Force Windows to only use the PPTP VPN tunnel!?

Is there any way to force Windows to only use the PPTP VPN tunnel that a networking layman can understand how to do? I've been looking for a way for a very long time now and the solutions have been scarce. I know that routing tables don't work since Windows changes them on it's own when the VPN connection drops, without asking the user. Maybe there is a piece of software that forces Windows to obey routing rules?
