Hi, I have used ntdsutil to clean up metadata of failed DC's on the Domain. That parts was completed succesfully as was the removal/deletion of the DC's from "Sites and Services". The problem developes when I attempt to delete the Failed DC's from "Users and Computers" under the "Domain Controllers" container/OU. Every time I attempt it it returns an error. I have used the ADSI Edit tool as part of the support tools and followed the technet instruction in removing these objects but as you may have gathered with no success.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Aelara.

Many thanks, This utility seems to be the solution I seek. The instructions are also very detailed. I'll give it a go on Monday.

I would verify the machine is fully out of the metabase. Use the script at the end of my FAQ faq96-4733.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
