I'm using a .NET datagrid to create an online printable report for our clients so they can login to view and print their own invoices, etc. When they have their Tools>Advanced>"Print background colors and images" enabled, my online forms print perfectly, but how can I enable their ie settings through code to force print the background colors even when they have the print setting disabled?

This is a question for the javascript forum, most likely, but unless they know something that I don't (which may very well be the case), then I'm afraid you can't.

The general rule is that a user can override anything a web developer can try to do, and especially in the printing arena.

For my stuff that absolutely has to be perfect, I create .pdf's and stream them to the client.
