Force image file to fit.

Hello

On the server is an image file .jpg

You don't know what size it is.

You want to put it in a Flash movie on the fly at a set size, say 320 x 200.

Is this possible?

sure just resize it once it has fully loaded

load it into an empty clip, have some preloader code targeted at that clip (from another clip), and once its fully loaded set the dimensions (xcsale,yscale)

The aspect ratio will likely be lost if you try to resize it in Flash.

If I were you, I would look at a PHP solution. That way you could determine the size of the image prior to modifying it, and you could resize it without squishing it one way or another.
