Here is the scenario. I run a network with about 150 users on it, about 1/3 of which would likely not be happy if I permanently change their "Home Page" (unfortunately that is the upper 1/3 of the company). I would like, however, to enforce our company's Intranet site as the startup page when someone opens Internet Explorer. I would like them to be able to maintain their existing home page so they can still easily access their favorite homepage (i.e. msn.com, google.com, etc..), just when they open a new instance of IE, it would by default send them to our Intranet site. Anybody out there have a good way of accomplishing this from a network management standpoint (Group Policy, Login Script, Registry Hack)?

This could be easy, or difficult depending on many factors. In it's simplest form: create a shortcut to your intranet site on the users desktop, call it 'Company IE' or something, remove the regular IE shortcts, & train your users to open IE from that. This would not do anything for users that have different default browsers or users that open IE via the start menu, etc...

Home Page: the page that shows when you open the navigator. If you make your intranet page appear, you're changing the homepage. Call it whatever you like.

I think you have two options: change it and teach them how to add their favourite page to their favourites or just add the intranet site to the favourites or links.

I personally wouldn't be happy if I get two homepages every time I open the browser but actually my homepage is about:blank.

Cheers,
Dian
