Force Gl Source Code

Is there any way that when a users logs into ACCPAC to have the GL Souce Code default to their initals. Right now the user needs to add it to the batch and could use someone elses initials. The auditors have asked if there is a way that this could be done so that the code is filled in automatically when the user logs into their respective companies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do the auditors want to know booked the entries? Are you using any other modules than GL?

No, that's not what GL Source codes are for. Your auditors are smoking something.

The reason why it was asked is because we have numerous users that do GL Entries and I have created a GL Source that will show their name when we look at the entires. It is not a specific request from the auditr as it is when they review the entry and find something we need to know who nade the entry. This is what we use the GL Source code for to do this.

Then you'll need a custom mod to the GL entry screen.

A cheap and dirty mod is an SQL trigger to update the source code when the batch is posted or something like that. I have not thought this through, but something in those lines might work.

I don't need it so I will not be doing anything. You can contact a developer to do the work for you, there are a couple around.
