Force Forwarded Outbound Calls to a Specific Trunk

I setup an extension (502) to forward unconditionally to an outside number. This entension is a phantom extension; there is no physical phone associated with it.

I need for the outbound outside call to always go out on analog line 5. I defined this trunk into a different incoming and outgoing line group (90) and set the Line Group Id on the forward shortcode to 90. However, the outside call is still placed on one of the line group 0 trunks.

I also tried adding user shortcode of ( [9]N; | N | Dial | 90 ) to this extension. However, the outside call is still placed on one of the line group 0 trunks.

Any other ideas?

if the call is alwasy to forward the dummy user is not strictly necessary, (you can put the short code directly in the incomming call route destination)

I would try a system shortcode something like this:-

SC 555
number <destination number>
line Group ID 90
feature Dial

LCR can override this if used, in which case the short code will need to be duplicated

also make sure the analog trunk has disconect clear & allow forwarding ticked ( trunk to trunk t-fers should only be allowed on trunks with a reliable disconect signal)

I created the extension so that I could include it as the last member of a hunt group.

I don't think I can do this with a shortcode. Correct?

Any other ideas on how to get the outbound outside call to go out on line group 90?

Setup your system shortcodes to allow you to dial 8 instead of 9 to dial out over line group 90. Then set your forwarding for the dummy user to 8+forward number instead of 9+forward number. This will bypass everything that might be messing you up.

I assume the system shortcode to dial out on line group 90 be multiple digits.

This is what I have in mind: ( *90N | N | Dial | 90 ).

I would use the following:

SC: 8N
TN: N
LG: 90
F: Dial

Then forward your phantom user to 8<number>

But yeah I guess you could use *90 instead of 8 - just feels wrong somehow though Maybe not so much if you're not in north america.

I suggested using *90 instead of 8 becuase I don't want a 'regular' user to inadverdently dial 8 and make a call on this 'reserved' trunk line.
