The full error message I get is below, I know or at least am sure that the fix for this is located in the httpd.conf file, but where and how to change this.????

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This can be a number of things. Check that the username and group that your Apache server runs as can read your DocumentRoot directory. Also check your <Directory> statements in the httpd.conf file.

Thanks for replying,

Wehave been through the httpd.conf file with a fine tooth comb and to no avail, we sent it to the data centre and they could not find anything either.

So we restored httpd.conf and rebuilt apache. Its working fine now!!

Wierd!

I would'nt mind betting it was a tab/indent missing in front of one of your <Directory /> directives .... I've seen this before.

Laurie.
