Forbidden access to certain file types

I have Apache up and running and it displays html files fine with no problem. But it will not display other files such as jpeg images on my site. If I try to view an image on the server, it just tells me that I am forbidden to access that file. I'm not sure if I have this configued right, I'm guessing not. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
