Hey guys...I am wondering if any of you guys have come across this problem. I have citrix users that are setup with their correct mappings in usrmgr; ex.... profile:\\servername\profile\%username%. They work fine for a couple of days even weeks but then all of a sudden, their profile mapping disappears!!??!!!!! That means all of their custom desktop configurations are gone and all their installed printers are gone. It's easy to fix..I just go and delete the local profile that it created on the server and go into usrmgr and remap their profile but its a pain in the a**!!!

I am running Win2k server w/sp2; MF 1.8 w/sp3 in a 4.0 domain.

Anybody have any ideas?!!!

Thanks!!

It looks like you are using roaming profiles, so it's probably a communications problem between the MF server and the File server holding the central profiles.

If the MF server can't download the roaming profile, it will use the default - which would appear to be the issue you have.

Check the event log for rpc failures or similar communications errors.

I hope this helps

One more possibility. You have a BDC in your domain that is not being updated from the PDC. Every now and then your users happen to hit that BDC (old SAM)when authenticating. Once a single user hits a particular BDC (in the MF environment) than all subsequent users will be authenticated by the same BDC until that one is no longer available (too busy) and another BDC is picked up. For testing you may want to turn off netlogon on the BDC that you may suspect. -- Devil Dog --

FYI..I found a fix to this problem.

It was one of our helpdesk users that was causing the problem all along.. =(

She was opening up usrmgr with a win98 box and it would go out and whip out all the tse configuration.

easy fix after that...put her on Citrix...LMAO
