I get most of it but don't understand the sc82 part.

I'll tell you what I am trying to do. I want to create a short code that will enable manual call recording on someone else's extension when dialed.

Funny that you work on the feature of call recording someone elses extension. I had the same request last week and told the customer not an option. For a 7 phone install wasting hours of testing and trying was just not in the budget.
I am not sure if you actually are legally allowed to do it but that is not really my concern.
you could try and monitor a call and then manually record it instead.

The end goal is to have a VMP action enable call recording for a user when they are transferred as a moderator into a conference bridge so that conference bridge calls can be recorded without turning on full time recording for a user.

Is the sc part for softconsole perhaps?
When you have the trunks you could build a loopback trunk and use ICR callrecording.
You then just forward to that trunk.

Kyle...adding some nice features to your conference module? I'm developing one myself with a web front end (all db based)...so if you figure this out i'd be intrigued by the answer.

It's gotten better. I stopped using static bridges and started using the P source number to store the password which then allows every extension to have a bridge without any programming.
